What are the rules of the official accreditation and certification of accountant in Finland?
In Finland accreditation is performed by the Union of Accountants. The process requires certain basic education and work ecperience and also passing a test. After passing the test, the accountant can use title KLT (kirjanpidon tutkinnon suorittanut – accountant exam passed). However this accreditation is not required from accountants in Finland. It is desirable that accounting company has certified accountants with accreditation and only the ones that has at least one accreditated accountant can use the title KLT with their name. Mandatory accreditation applies only to the auditors.
